Travel theme: Bountiful Blooms

The theme for this week at  Where’s My Backpack is ‘bountiful’ and in this case, bountiful blooms! There’s something about the word, bountiful, that just makes me think of Fall and all the rich colors it brings. For these pics, I repositioned the mums into sunny spot and then got my camera in close. Hope you enjoy this interpretation – want more? More bountiful posts.

Travel theme: Horizon

The health of the eye seems to demand a horizon. We are never tired, so long as we can see far enough. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

The theme for this week at  Where’s My Backpack  is “Horizon.”  This theme gave me the perfect excuse to go back through my archive. I chose some of my favorite horizon images, mostly from previous family summer vacations. Hope you enjoy!

Travel theme: Purple

Colors passing through us

(Excerpt) Marge Piercy

Purple as tulips in May, mauve
into lush velvet, purple
as the stain blackberries leave
on the lips, on the hands,
the purple of ripe grapes
sunlit and warm as flesh.

Every day I will give you a color,
like a new flower in a bud vase
on your desk. Every day
I will paint you, as women
color each other with henna
on hands and on feet.

Travel theme: Close-up

This week Ailsa, from Where’s My Backpack,  asks to see images that represent Close-Up.  I don’t really do a lot of macro photography but I do enjoy zooming in close to objects in order to get a little different perspective. In each of the photos below, I love the striking shapes and colors that you can find by zooming in. How about you, what images would you share that represent close-up?
