Weekly Photo Challenge: Solitary

Still playing catchup with past challenges. Here’s my entry for last week’s SOLITARY challenge. This shot is from earlier this year, during a trip to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. This is a photo of my son, in one of my favorite parts of the gallery, the Chinese Temple. He’s standing at the foot of a great Buddhist work, Guanyin of the Southern Sea. It is believed to be from either the  Liao (907-1125) or Jin Dynasty (1115-1234).  It’s wonderful to be able to share these works with my family, but also a moving, solitary experience.
