The challenge this week is to show a photo that represents the word “merge.” Here’s how guest host Gary Ng of Gnostec Photography describes the challenge:
“Merge. The world is made up of many things. There is a saying that opposites attract, and this is true for relationships and other things. What about photography? Many surprises can come out of merging two different entities into one. Sometimes this fusion of the elements is what we call art.”
Below are two submissions expressing the idea of merge – two different entities into one. In both cases, mother nature has repurposed something man-made. Both images were taken with my iPhone 4s and Instagram.
I snapped the first picture earlier today. I was drawn by the streaks of sunlight across the thick base of the wisteria that has taken over the back porch.
This second shot is from an early spring visit to my grandparents rice farm in eastern Arkansas. Their homeplace burned down a couple of years ago and a mother Killdeer decided to lay her eggs in a depression of the driveway.
